Sarcophagus of the Spouses Installation - Intersection Across Archaeology, 3D Video Mapping and Holographic Techniques Combined with Immersive Narrative Environments and Scenography

Abstract
This paper presents the Sarcophagus of the Spouses installation, an audiovisual performance and exhibit combining 3D video mapping, holographic techniques, computer graphics, high definition visualization with 3D reconstruction and digital storytelling embedded in an immersive narrative environment and scenography. The installation is based on the Sarcophagus of the Spouses (Italian: Sarcofago degli Sposi), a terracotta Etruscan masterpiece of 1.14 m high by 1.9 m wide created around 520 BC depicting a married couple in their last hug, now located in the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia, Rome.
