    Intangible Treasures - Capturing the Intangible Cultural Heritage and Learning the Rare Know-How of Living Human Treasures

    i-Treasures project, included into EU FP7, aims at building a public and expandable platform to enable learning and transmission of rare know-how of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) in order to prevent them from extinction.I-Treasure aims to provide a tool that will allow their transmission to new people. The proposed platform combines lots of different technologies like multisensory technology, singing voice synthesis and sensorimotor learning to leave the beaten path in education and ICH knowledge transmission. In i-Treasures project, there are four main ICH cases: rare traditional songs; rare dance interactions; traditional craftsmanship focusing on the art of pottery making, and finally contemporary music composition based on Beethoven, Haydn and Mozart musical pieces.

    A robot to digitize indoor and underground cultural heritage sites: a novel approach for acquiring and managing digital models of archaeological sites. Three technologies will be presented for this occasion: a robotic system for digitization of archaeological sites (DigiRo), a cloud-based archaeological information system (ARIS), and an immersive virtual reality apps for virtually visiting the digitized sites.

    Open Access Antiquarianism is a collaboration between archaeologists, artists, computer scientists, and structural engineers to creatively push the boundaries at the intersection of art and technology to evaluate, engage, and preserve the Past, while simultaneously building and refining the technology of the future so that it can be used to make the Past accessible to the Present, and therefore part of the future social sphere.

    In the intervention for the restoration of the Fountain of the Lions, the Council of the Alhambra and Generalife developed an application using all available techniques for its graphic documentation, employing a multiplicity of processes that complement each other and allow to obtain a full registration of all works performed.

    CultLab3D, the world-wide first attempt at 3D mass digitization, implements a multi-modular scanning pipeline connecting individual scanners by conveyor belts and transporting cultural heritage artefacts on corresponding trays.

    Serbia 1914 is a contemporary museum project dedicated to the FWW centenary. The exhibition at Historical Museum of Serbia, organized by Historical Museum of Serbia and Military Museum under the patronage of Ministry of Culture aims at offering a refreshing museum experience, turning an ordinary museum visit into a personal, interactive storytelling experience. Within this project, LiveViewStudio developed a sort of cross-media experience, bringing together mobile, web and traditional museum communication.

    3D movie of the house of Caecilius Iucundus in Pompeii

    The computer graphic movie about the House of Caecilius Iucundus was produced for the exhibition Pompeji, held at the Millesgården, Stockholm, form sept. 2014 to may 2015. The exhibition invited to experience Pompeian domestic space by means of a scenography partly reconstructing the House of Cacilius Iucundus, by means of original objects, small finds and wall decorations, found in his house, and by means of the overall visualization offered by the movie.

    Papermint (A Minty Toons World) was a highly complex massive multiplayer online game (MMOG), launched in March 2007 and downloaded and played regularly by a fan community of around 20.000 users between 2007 and 2011.The online world was created entirely out of paper. ''Papermint'' integrated the highest narrative potential in his world in a way it has never been seen before in an online game.

    Protect the walls! is a serious game that deals with the technology and tactics of siege of the IV century BC, the war machines and the strategies of attack and defense, the architectural characteristics of the towers and the city walls of Paestum (that was called Poseidonia before the Romans). It is and educational project involving the user in a multi-sensory experience. The issue is developed through a short but spectacular movie followed by a game using gesture-based interaction, suitable for a diverse audience, particularly young people.

    Smartphone-based Remote 3D Interaction for Digital Heritage Applications

    Nowadays, smartphones include a set of built-in sensors that provide 3D capabilities to these devices. These 3D sensing capabilities, together with the touchscreen input, a very high compute power, and its widespread use, have made the smartphone an obvious candidate to visualize and interact with 3D content. The applications here presented are a set of single-handed 3D interaction techniques for smartphones to provide an ergonomic and intuitive tool to remotely manipulate 3D content.

    Despite the large number of monumental tombs discovered over the years in Taranto, only a few among them are open to the public. In most cases the visit is precluded and the artifacts preserved inside them until the discover, have been subsequently brought into some museums whereas the monumental structures have been restored in order to prevent their collapse.

    Digital techniques are very versatile and, going beyond hyper-realism, allow the creation of all types of very expressive solutions. The 19 audiovisual pieces made for the National Archeological Museum deal with various themes using different approaches but share the use of mixed animation techniques in which drawing, illustration and animation are integrated with 3D and digital composition in search of appropriate and innovative languages.
