While the first conference called Eurographics took place in Bologna in 1979, so making Granada the 25th international event of that name, the Eurographics Association was formally incorporated in Switzerland in 1980. Thus, Grenoble has marked the 25th annual event of the Eurographics Association and has triggered a year of celebration until EG'05 in Dublin. Celebrations are important occasions occasions in professional associations life and evolution. They allow members to recognize the benefits and purpose of service and increase the sense of belonging to a community of like-minded people.
